Sports TV Production Magazine names NEP Visions HD2 “Truck of the Games.”

NEP Visions’s HD 2 was chosen by NBC Olympics as its production truck for the Opening Ceremonies, hockey and the day-part control room. HD2 was upgraded for the Olympics with a Grass Valley Kalypso HD switcher and kicked-off NBC’s Torino coverage.

Launched in March 2004, HD2 is a double expando truck that can accommodate up to 11 people seated. HD2 also offers a variety of cameras and an integral VT area capable of up to 18 replay/record devices and edit facility.

In addition to NEP Visions’s HD2 as the Truck of the Games, NBC relied on a variety of OB truck and flypack providers for its coverage of the Torino Winter Olympics including:

Complement includes: up to 24 Thomson LDK 6000 Worldcams, Grass Valley Kalypso HD (upgraded for NBC), Calrec Sigma mixer with 56 faders/62 channels and 8 stereo groups, 5.1 surround capable with Dolby E encode & decode and full 5.1 audio monitoring in sound & production areas and up to 4-channels of graphics. Combined with DTR1 videotape truck.
