NEP International Events Group (IEG) - RIBS (Racks-in-a-Box System) Overview

The NEP Rack-in-a-Box-System (RIBS) is designed to be a modular and scalable solution to large remote production requirements demanding a large facility for a long duration. Total flexibility and ease of installation is the key to success on these challenging location environments by the use of the NEP RIBS.

A RIB is a custom built rolling platform that houses 20 shock-mounted equipment racks. Each platform rolls into a 20’ Sea Container and can be shipped anywhere in the world. We have multiple platforms each wired for a particular sub-system of a major technical installation. For example, one RIB contains routing and plant distribution, another communications and one other transmission systems.

Besides the specialized units which would tend to be used for the largest operations, there is one single RIB which contains enough equipment to operate one to three control rooms & studios. It also contains a video area, and routing for a tape area - along with all the associated quality control and monitoring. This one RIB could be rolled into a Broadcast Center, an empty room, or loading dock and be fully operational within a few days.

This unit could be used for studio type shows that require multiple week assignment on location. Perfect for “four-wall” lot shows, soaps, game shows, start up shows, etc. and large long-scale sporting events. A very cost effective, portable, easily setup control room. Many of these units can operate in either a High Definition or Standard Definition, all digital environment.

All interconnection within the racks is already completed. Only interconnect to your facility and power feeders are needed in order to activate the system.
